The use of a shoe cast has been used for many years in the provision of CFO’s. Maintaining a “Subtalar Neutral” or Neutral Calcaneal Stance Position
(NCSP) during the cast the clinician is able to copy theposition typically used to judge foot alignment. A cast is takenwith wax. This is then used to yield a mould for correction or modifications before the fabrication."
